Lavender Festival

From June 19th, Assisi

The lavender festival has been taking place for 12 years now in the lavender fields and gardens of the IL LAVANDETO DI ASSISI nursery in Castelnuovo di Assisi
The party takes place in the 3 hectares of gardens and fields and which were created for
love for greenery, and for lavender, and for this event that attracts people from all over Italy, and allows everyone to immerse themselves in a fragrant landscape in the midst of nature and admire this beautiful show: rows of pink, blue, lavender, purple, lilac, white framed by the magnificent background of Assisi, the birthplace of St. Francis, a saint who infinitely loved nature.

During the 3 weekends of the lavender festival: (the last 2 of June and the first of July) it is also pleasant to stop in the middle of the fields and observe and photograph the flowering that will change every week. Nature lovers but also gardening enthusiasts can also walk freely in the garden of ornamental sages, in the garden of medicinal plants, admire the ponds, participate in guided tours and the distillation of lavender.

Festival dei Due Mondi

From June 25th to July 11th, Spoleto

The sixty-fourth edition of the Spoleto Festival dei Due Mondi, the first programmed by artistic director Monique Veaute, opens on Friday 25 June 2021.

Founded by Gian Carlo Menotti in 1958, Italy’s oldest performing arts festival once again transforms the city of Spoleto into a stage: from 25 June to 11 July, 60 performances, all Italian premieres, feature more than 500 artists from 13 countries in 15 venues, with some of the world’s best artists and companies offering an uninterrupted flow of music, opera, dance, theatre, allowing audiences to discover the unexpected.

Performances, discussions with artists, collateral events and debates shine a light on contemporary society, illuminating its diversity and complexity.

There are exhibitions at Palazzo Collicola, while discussions organized by Fondazione Carla Fendi, concerts at the Casa Menotti and numerous collateral events introduce visitors to some of the most beautiful hidden corners of this city.

The 64th edition of the Festival dei Due Mondi welcomes live audiences in absolute security. While the health situation means there are restrictions on the number of available tickets, a calendar of online appointments will be streamed via the Digital Stage so that those who cannot attend physically can still take part. A festival which brings people together, creating new opportunities for dialogue and reflection.

Umbria Jazz in Perugia reaches its 47th edition.

Since 1973 Umbria Jazz has become for Perugia, the capital of Umbria, the summer event par excellence, the event that makes every corner of Perugia extraordinary with music, colors, lights and artists of international and non-international fame, coming from all over the world.

The 2021 edition will also host Billy Hart with Ethan Iverson, Enrico Rava in duo with Fred Hersch, Cécile McLorin Salvant with Sullivan Fortner, Imany “Voodoo Cello”, Paolo Fresu with a tribute to David Bowie, Cimafunk, Gonzalo Rubalcaba & Aymée Nuviola, Quinteto Astor Piazzolla, Edmar Castaneda/Grégoire Maret duo, Danilo Rea, Gino Paoli & Funk Off.

To these are added Angélique Kidjo, Emmet Cohen Trio with Samara Joy and Julian Lage Trio.

The village of Panicale (PG) will host a new edition of Effetto48 from 23 to 25 July 2021.
The program of the multidisciplinary review will consist of 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟯𝟬 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 including shows, concerts, screenings, performances, exhibitions and workshops.
This year 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝗲𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗿 will be the themes proposed to the invited artists who will participate with new, “ad hoc” productions.
Effetto48 does not only host the artist, but in fact it makes him play a part in a collective appointment, a ritual.
In 48 hours, everyone, spectator or insider, will be able to create their own path by simply relying on their instincts.

Trekking of the Fireflies in the Fairy Woods

This event offers you an unforgettable exclusive experience in the magic of the Casentino Secular Forests. Thousands of fireflies that suddenly illuminate the forest offering a surreal spectacle and giving emotions that take your breath away and awaken the amazement in the child within us.
A series of evenings dedicated to the observation of this wonderful natural phenomenon.

Fridays will be dedicated exclusively to adults, while on Saturdays an aperitif and a visit to the Secret Rooms with the Friars of La Verna are combined with the pike-in-the-clock to conclude with the Sunday fire flies for children.
Due to pollution, these extraordinary insects are drastically decreasing and to see them it is necessary to move further and further away from urban centers, but in this case the forest is the background of this magic.
For this we will be immersed in some of the most fascinating forest stretches of the Park between centuries-old beeches and firs that touch the sky to live this wonderful experience.
