We travelled all around Tuscany and Umbria and this was without doubt our favourite location and property we visited. The setting was amazing and you'd struggle to find nicer hosts globally let alone in Italy. We also did the cooking class, which was informative and incredibly enjoyable. We learnt so many skills to take home but was also one of the highlights of our trip! Had an amazing cooking class this morning at Fontanara Slow Cooking school. After picking fresh tomatoes in their gorgeous fruit and vegetable garden, we had an olive oil tasting and then learned how to make different sorts of pasta’s and 2 desserts. To end with a great lunch, eating all the food we prepared, and more, accompanied by the Fontanara wine and topped with some coffee and limoncello. After that we had an explanation about the production of the olive oil and were able to walk around the garden. The most beautiful Villas in Umbria or Tuscany.  A great location to base your Tuscany and Umbria exploration, Lucia is the best hostess!  Lucia and her excellent team helped with all of our reservations to restaurants, wineries, and renting a car for local travel.  Lucia is very well connected throughout Italy and can help you have an extraordinary experience.  The staff takes care of the little details that make for a unique experience of a lifetime.  Some examples, they provided coffee, milk, eggs, pasta, sauce and amenities to get you started.  Rodrigo also started a fire in the woodstove at the villa while we were out at dinner!  What a treat to come back to during a chilly night!  The organic olive farm is a special place with amazing views. We had a truly special and unforgettable experience at Il Fontanaro.  We loved absolutely everything - the accommodations of Frantoio, the pool, the farm and garden, the cooking class, the very special olive oil, wine, honey, and all of the interactions we had with The family and staff. Thank you for sharing with us your history, passion and work - i nostri ringraziamenti!!

In a book about hiking Umbria, we read about a beautiful hike to take in Paciano - to our surprise, we could start/end the hike right from Il Fontanaro's driveway!  The sunset at Madrevite was out of this world, thank you for suggesting it to us!!

And - the truffle hunt (and lunch afterwards featuring our finds!) you arranged for us at Seven Cafe was extra extra special!

Super lovely place to stay at!!! Located at the foot of Paciano ( very cute town) and Panicale - also very cute!

Very peaceful location. Beautiful salt water pool. Very clean rooms/ suites. We are staying at Sassicaia. There are two full bathrooms in our unit. It’s very well equipped with everything you need. The owners are very nice and caring too!
