A NEW FONTANARO EXPERIENCE: CHEESE MAKER FOR A DAY!

Learn to make cheese within the cheese factory Caseificio Montecristo in Todi (PG), a super fun experience advised by Il Fontanaro.

ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE:

First, there is the visit of the dairy during the production cycle. Then suitable materials will be provided to access to the production area in which you will be able to have a training of some production phases (ricotta, scamorza, pecorino or mozzarella) that you will be able to taste!

Then the tasting of 4 different types of cheese, 2 types of salami, wine or beer selected according to the type of products chosen, with the explanation of the products tasted.

Normally the visits last from 9am to 1am.

ABOUT CASEIFICIO MONTECRISTO:

They are artisans with a passion for cheese: the cheese factory is located within the farm owned by the Agricultural Technical Institute of Todi, the oldest in Italy.

They transform 3 types of milk: bovine, sheep’s and goat’s, always paying great attention to the choice of the quality of the raw materials.

They produce about 70 types of cheeses, from the freshest to the most mature; an entire line is dedicated to lactose intolerant, even celiacs can safely taste all cheeses, as they are gluten free, in fact they do not contain any foreign element to the milk (preservatives, colorants, bleaches, stabilizers, anti molds, etc).
